I think I might've blushed a little. "You're welcome, then..." Alaina was still reaching her arms out to her. "Laney-bear, no!" I pinch her nose.

"Thank you," I smile. "And you're from Park, too? Really? What are you doing down here in Oceanview?"

Carefully, I start petting the dog. I had to look like such a fucking retard. I'm what, 5'4? And I'm kneeling on the street, with this huge-ass grin. Because I get to pet a dog.

Lila tilted her head up and licked Frank's hand. I untwisted her leash from around my hand, undoing some knots.

I blinked, looking around. Weird emails. This was weird... We were in Oceanview, too-- I shouldn't be caught dead here.
